Parks and Rec is going GREEN!

Thinking about Spring Cleaning?!? Join Norton Parks and Recreation and our Recycle Shoe Drive! We are not just recycling old shoes, but allowing those in underserved communities around the globe find their “solemate.” Write a note on the sole of old shoes, drop them in the designated boxes and watch them as they travel the globe…and help the globe in the process - No more shoes piled high in landfills.”

Why are shoes important? Footwear is the first step to helping people in impoverished and unsophisticated areas live healthy, productive lives. Footwear can help eliminate the spreading of diseases through the foot, as well as help children get an education—since many schools have footwear requirements to attend.

We have a box at the Town Hall in the Parks and Recreation Department (2nd floor) where you will be able to drop your shoes at the town hall during regular business hours.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to go GREEN!
